The 2016 summer application period for KF Buddhist Studies Scholarships and KF Individual Practice Grants begins June 15, 2016. Applications will be accepted between June 15 and July 15. Khyentse Foundation awards grants and scholarships to individuals who have shown a strong commitment to Buddhist practice and study. This global, nonsectarian program accepts applications from Buddhist teachers, students, scholars, translators, practitioners, retreatants, and others from around the world.
Seven committee members from the United States, Europe, South America, and Asia work together to review the applications. In the last round of reviews (winter 2015), KF awarded a total of nearly $95,000 through this open application process. The committee accepts applications twice a year. Most KF scholarship awards are in the range of US$500 to $4,000.
Projects that support Buddhist initiatives outside the study and practice guidelines for these two grant categories may qualify for Ashoka Grants. Applications for Ashoka grants will be accepted from July 15 to August 15, 2016
