Buddhist Studies Scholarships

Khyentse Foundation Buddhist Studies Scholarships support individuals who wish to study the dharma. KF accepts applications from students, practitioners, and scholars from all traditions, schools, and sects of Buddhism. These scholarships fund tuition or other expenses related to one’s studies. Applicants for this scholarship are usually working toward an BA, MA, or MPhil degree, or are in a certificate program.

Students applying to Rangjung Yeshe Institute (RYI) in Nepal must apply directly to RYI. KF gives RYI an annual grant to use for financial aid for ordained sangha, lay students, and work-study participants. For more information, go to https://www.ryi.org/students/financial-aidIf you have any questions, please contact [email protected]

Applications are reviewed by an international selection committee appointed by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche.

Applicants will be notified by May 15 and November 15, respectively.

KF Buddhist Studies Scholarships generally range from US$500 to $3,000, and occasionally more, depending on the program.
