Sponsored by the Khyentse Foundation Buddhist Translation Studies Program at the University of Vienna, Filippo Brambilla was awarded in 2016 a two-year annual scholarship grant of $14,400 USD for research in identifying, translating, and analyzing different expositions of the Zhentong doctrine in late and contemporary Jonang literature. Filippo’s study includes carrying out extensive fieldwork in Amdo, in direct contact with the living Jonang tradition. Here is a picture of Filippo with Khenpo Chöwang in Dzamthang.
