Every couple of months, we share with you a personal recommendation from Rinpoche about one of his favorite things—a book, a movie, a piece of music, a coffee shop, a bookstore …

Kokoro by Natsume Soseki
Translated into English by Edwin McClellan
Kokoro—“the heart of things”—is the work of one of Japan’s most popular authors. This thought-provoking trilogy of stories explores the very essence of loneliness. (Review by Goodreads)
“Like much of the old Japanese literature, I find it like a stretched haiku. Simple yet profound. And heartfelt. Some of this book really moved me.”
— Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche
Dear Rinpoche, thank you for being in this world, inspiring, enriching and supporting us in so many ways? I would love to hear your comments about other books, f’ex’ Coming Home by Dicken Bettinger, Somebody should have told us by Jack Pransky, and The Missing Link by Sydney Banks. I would also be very intersted to hear you interview people of various spiritual traditions. Other books of quite a different genre I would be very interested to hear your comments on as an enlightened person and buddhist master: The shock doctrine by Naomi Klein and One Nation under blackmail by Whitney Alyse Webb. I think it would benefit many beings to hear your enlightened comments and analysis of these and other to our times so pertinent works.
I ordered Koroko the book on your recommendation.
Treasures from Juniper Ridge is a read I wish to recommend.
A poetic exchange between teacher and student. Questions and answers on the vital point. Perfect timing after hearing the talks on Glimpses of Abhidharma.
