Happy Year of the Pig from all of us at Siddhartha’s Intent and Khyentse Foundation!
To celebrate the Year of the Pig, Khyentse Foundation and Siddhartha’s Intent jointly offer a beautifully designed calendar to inspire your practice throughout the year, with the auspicious dates of the Khyentse Masters Lineage specially marked.
May the year of the Earth Pig bring joy and countless auspicious activities.
Below please find the calendar offered in 12 languages. (Please note, files are large so the PDFs may be slow to load.)
Step-by-step printing instructions available here.
A Note on Dates: You’ll notice that in the first two months of this year, two of the auspicious dates are repeated on the calendar. In some years, including this year, the lunar calendar repeats a month to align with the solar calendar. As a result, this year there are 13 months in the lunar calendar, with the first month being repeated. This means there are two Chötrul Düchens and two Anniversaries of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo in 2019.

Thank you. Please, though, I would like clarification of this notion of repeating a month of the lunar calendar to align with the solar calendar. As one who has studied astrology (Western) for years, I have understood auspicious dates to correspond to planetary phenomena, with the alignment of the stars indicating a time of actual power and harmony in the outer world, a phenomena of connectedness that extends from the planets to our inner channels. Individually, this has seemed to me to be a map of karma. Collectively, I have understood it as times of auspiciousness or obstacle. Commenmorating great teachers is anniversary and reminder, but Chotrul Duchen is a Great Wheel day when merit is said to be greatly multiplied. It doesn’t make sense to me that this could be duplicated to align on paper with another system. Seems like a clerical adjustment. And if it’s just that, where is the power in these special days? If you have someone who can answer, I would seriously like to understand. Thanks.
Unfortunately haven’t found anyone with that knowledge yet, but you could try contacting Men-Tsee-Khang, the Tibetan Medical and Astro-science Institute.
Please, do share if you find the answer.
I am addicted to calendars, this is the best gift for my family. Thank you very much.
Garicias Rinpochela!!
So beautiful gift to all practitioners from our Venerable Teacher.
Thank you all who made tjis possible. Blessings to all and that this calendar bring auspicious practice to all Dharma practitioners for the benefit of inmumerable beings.
Kunsang Nigma.
Thank you for your time and effort, but where is Sanskrit/Hindi? Buddha is not a modern invention… How can we admire Buddha without appreciating its root? It would be a great blessing for reflourishing the Buddhadharma and benefiting all the beings, if we could have it… I’d like suggest FK/SI do a new one in line with DJKR’s grand vision… Thank you!
This is a great idea! We’re working on translating into Hindi and will update once the calendar is ready and published.
Thank you for sharing
Thank you all!
