Khyentse Foundation funded Maria Vasylieva’s project of developing and publishing a Ukrainian dictionary of Dharma terminology in 2014. This huge project took three years to come to fruition. The dictionary contains about 1,000 definitions of terms that cover the Buddhist philosophical canon, as well as descriptions of outstanding personalities, places, and events, mainly in the history of ancient Indian and Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. The dictionary was presented for review by two leading Ukrainian academics, specialists in the field of Eastern linguistics and philosophy. It is soon to be published, and 200 copies will be printed and distributed free of charge. This is an important step on the long path of establishing a tradition of qualified Dharma translations in the Ukrainian language.
