Chris Jay

Chris began studying and practicing the Dharma in 1970 at Daitoku-ji, a Rinzai Zen temple in Kyoto, Japan. He spent 7 years there, 4 years as a novice and 3 years as a fully ordained monk. He became a student of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche in 1997. In 2008, Chris completed a 3-year retreat at Vajradhara Gonpa in Australia under Rinpoche’s guidance. He lives in Grass Valley, California, which is near San Francisco. He is a Partner in The Exetor Group, a global leadership development firm, and holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.  Chris is the Co-Director of the Khyentse Leadership Project, and is the Administrator and an instructor for the Dharma Gar West, an online practice community
