Heather is an educator of young children. She holds an undergraduate degree in contemplative early childhood education from Naropa University, Boulder, Colorado and a postgraduate degree in intercultural and cross-cultural education and training from the University of Victoria, British Columbia. She has more than 20 years teaching experience in a wide variety of cultures and settings, from preschool to university.
Heather has been a practicing Buddhist since 1994 and a student of Dzongsar Khyentse since 1996. In 2007, she took temporary ordination in Burma in preparation for three-year retreat, which she completed in 2012. She now resides on Vancouver Island with her husband Jason Sanche and their daughter Adelaide Athena. Heather writes for Island Parent and Buddhist Door International about combining contemplative practices and parenting.
