Buddhist Education for Children Steering Committee
Born in 1978 in Jablonec nad Nisou, the Czech Republic, Lucie Juříková is currently a freelance educator. Her most recent work has revolved around developing and running educational activities related to ecology, human rights, and non-violence in the Czech Republic and India.
She worked as a primary teacher in the Czech Republic from 2001 to 2007, where she taught English and civics and ran children’s drama club. In 2008 she joined the Tibetan Children Village Day School in McLeod Ganj, India as a substitute volunteer teacher. It was then when she connected with Deer Park Institute in Bir in India, where she frequently volunteers.
Lucie obtained a bachelor’s degree (pedagogy, social work, psychology, and philosophy) from the Evangelic Theological Faculty of the Charles University in Prague. Her thesis was action-oriented research based on the model of the Heart’s Ladder of Child’s Participation. Lucie is on the KF Buddhist Education for Children Committee.
