Dr. Catherine Dalton

Study and Translation as Buddhist Practice

outubro 25, 2024
outubro 25, 2024
By maryann

In contemporary academia, the study of Buddhism and the translation of Buddhist texts are often treated as disciplines separate from the practice of Buddhism as a path to awakening. In this talk, Catherine will explore how integrating the study of Buddhism and the translation of its texts with committed experiential training can lead to a more effective and fulfilling approach to both learning and translation. She will discuss how, by following her teachers’ guidance and drawing inspiration from both ancient and modern scholars and translators, she has personally benefited from approaching the study and translation of the Buddhist teachings as an integral part of her own Buddhist practice.
