Rinchen Terdzö Empowerments Slideshow

Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche is bestowing the Rinchen Terdzo empowerments in Takila Bhutan. Tens of thousands of people have come to receive the blessings. Rinpoche is working tirelessly, 7 days per week for more than 5 months.
The empowerments are organized by Lama Karpo's Druk Oddiyana Foundation, which is responsible for the construction of the largest Guru Rinpoche statue in the world. Rinpoche faces Guru Rinpoche from inside a temporary structure that was built especially for the ceremony.
Yogis from across Bhutan have come out of retreat, monks have closed their monasteries, lay people have left their business, all to attend the wangs.
Mandala offerings are made many times a day.
Hundreds of monks from Chokyi Gyatso Institute are supporting the empowerments with countless hours of preparation and distribution of substances. Here a CGI monk holds the precious umbrella over Rinpoche after an outdoor portion of the wang.
Guru Rinpoche Day was marked by an elaborate reenactment of Guru Rinpoche being received by the king of Tibet and all the consorts and disciples. Ten thousand people came for the event. Rinpoche was cast as Guru Rinpoche.
The reenactment included the five consorts of Padmasambhava (the one in the middle is not a consort)
There are numerous tsok offerings, almost every day. But the event has made environmentalism a priority so no packaged foods are offered. Each tsok is a beautiful display of Bhutanese produce and traditional foods.
Special guests have included the current Prime Minister of Bhutan, Thsering Tobgay
Dudjom Yangsi is Rinpoche's chopen and Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche has played a key role in keeping the wangs on track. Here they stand with Khenpo Karpo and some of the other tulkus who are here for the entire session.
Rinpoche personally blesses all 4,000+ people attending with purified saffron water. Thangtong Tulku assists.
None of this would be possible without the amazing dedication of Lama Karpo.
