PhD Scholarships
Khyentse Foundation PhD Scholarships support individuals who are working toward a doctorate in Buddhist or translation studies. This scholarship program has helped doctoral students with their expenses for tuition, research activities, travel, publication, and related needs. Awardees are enrolled in a PhD program, doing research for their PhD degree, or working on their doctoral dissertation.
PhD Scholarship requirements:
- Current curriculum vitae
- Two-page summary of your PhD thesis
- Most recent academic transcript
- Letter of recommendation from your mentor or academic advisor
As of March 2026, we are not accepting applications for PhD Scholarships. Khyentse Foundation is now in its 25th year of operations, and while this program has been an integral part of our story, we recognize that in this age of Artificial Intelligence, we must adapt and change. We will use this hiatus to reevaluate how programs like this can be of even greater benefit in the future.
