Khyentse Foundation PhD Scholarships support individuals who are currently working toward a doctorate in Buddhist Studies. This scholarship program helps doctoral students with their expenses for tuition, research activities, travel, publication, or other needs. KF accepts applications from people who are currently enrolled in a PhD program, doing research for their PhD degree, or working on their doctoral dissertation. People studying in any tradition, school, or sect of Buddhism are encouraged to apply.
PhD Scholarship requirements:
- Current curriculum vitae
- Two-page summary of your PhD thesis
- Most recent academic transcript
- Letter of recommendation from your mentor or academic advisor
Applications are reviewed by an international selection committee appointed by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche.
Submissions are accepted once a year, from June 15 to July 15. Applications are due by midnight Eastern Time on the last day of the application period and late submissions will not be accepted. Applicants will be notified by November 15.
Maximum award is US$5,000 per year.
