The Two Truths
“No matter how much you sit, no matter how much you are not distracted, no matter how much you meditate, until you have the right view, you have done nothing. Until you have the right view, those things take you nowhere. You are still inside the net, you are still the fish being caught."
In October 2014, Rinpoche gave a lively teaching on the Two Truths and the Buddhist view of emptiness in Bodhgaya, the site of the Buddha's enlightenment and the most sacred place to practice and listen to the teachings of the Buddha. Rinpoche frequently visits Bodhgaya, where he initiated the Dzongsar Monlam, and for his own personal retreat. In 2016, he helped inaugurate the Siddhartha Festival
at the Mahabodhi Temple. And Rinpoche's book, Best Foot Forward
, (originally titled What to do at India's Buddhist Holy Sites
), was recently re-edited, illustrated, and published for sale for people who wish to make pilgrimage to Bodhgaya and other Buddhist holy places in India and Nepal.
For Losar this year, The Two Truths is being offered free of charge. It's the start of an effort to make all of Rinpoche’s recorded Mahayana teachings in the past ten years available for free. That process will take place over the next 12-24 months so stay tuned. Meanwhile, there are already plenty of free teachings to choose from on the Siddhartha's Intent Recordings page and official YouTube channel.
